We’re committed to supporting you beyond the workplace. That includes helping you stay informed and prepared when it comes to personal responsibilities like taxes.

Step-by-Step: How to File Your Tax Return

01

Check if You Need to File

If you earn less than R500,000 annually from one employer (with no additional income or deductions), SARS may auto-assess you—meaning you might not need to file a return yourself. Still, it’s always wise to log into SARS eFiling and confirm your status.

02

Collect Your Supporting Documents

Make sure you have everything you need:Your IRP5/IT3(a) certificate (We provide this if you’ve worked with us) Medical aid certificate (if applicable) Details of retirement annuity contributions. Records of any additional income or deductible expenses.

03

Register on SARS eFiling

If you haven’t yet registered, head over to www.sarsefiling.co.za. It’s free, secure, and allows you to complete your tax return entirely online.

04

Complete and Submit Your Return

Once logged in, you’ll fill out the ITR12 form. SARS may prepopulate this form with information they’ve received from your employer or other sources—simply review, update if needed, and submit.

05

Track Your Submission

After submitting your return, monitor your eFiling account for feedback or instructions from SARS. If a refund is due, it’s usually processed within a few working days.
